Identifying opportunities in the UK Nuclear Sector
An international energy company approached Opportuneo to carry out a high-level strategic analysis of the UK nuclear sector. This involved exploring opportunities in three main areas: existing nuclear operations, new nuclear build projects, and the decommissioning sector. A first project delivered an outline strategy on how best to engage with opportunities in each area for the period to 2030. A second, follow-up project focused on raising the profile of the organisation in the UK nuclear market and exploring opportunities for partnerships.

Exploring opportunities in the UK Energy Services Sector
An international energy services company wanted to explore the possibility of entering the UK market. They commissioned Opportuneo to carry out an assessment of the market focusing on core services they might provide. A wide-ranging, detailed analysis revealed many opportunities, including university estates, public buildings, bank branches, care homes and hotel premises; the analysis confirmed that the organisation was also very well placed to support organisations wishing to engage with the energy transition underway.

Supporting an acquisition in the UK energy market
A major overseas pension fund wanted to invest in a major energy infrastructure facility. Part of the due diligence required a deep dive into the current policy and regulatory environment, and the identification of potential new developments that could affect its future operation. An Opportuneo expert provided a detailed analysis of this important area and developed a detailed engagement programme with key stakeholders across the energy market to aid their decision-making process.

Executive training programme
A senior manager in a major international utility sought support in developing and implementing a Stakeholder Engagement programme. An Opportuneo expert acted as advisor and coach, working closely with the executive to establish a detailed work programme for the initiative. There were two phases to the project. In Phase 1 they began by addressing the most appropriate approach to strategic stakeholder engagement for the organisation, while Phase 2 focused on developing the culture of the organisation’s wider team of internal experts to ensure a harmonised and holistic approach across the business.
